Very nice Malaysian food. Got to have it! It is call banana leaf rice, originated from India. This cost me RM 4.00 without additional dishes. Just rice, greens and Dahl sauce.

Mummy's tip: Never water the plant under the hot afternoon sun. The best time to water them is late morning or in the late afternoon.

Cameron Retreat 17-19 May

It was so nice to have a retreat at Cameron Highlands. So good to retreat ourselves from our busy life and just stop to have fun. I went there with my friends from Church.

One best thing I learnt from David Lim who is from the Everest Motivation Team is "Everyone can be a champion!" He led a team to Everest, successful; came back paralyzed due GBS Syndrome, picked himself up again and then lead a team of disables to mountains. He led those who are limbless - no hands and legs. This made me think, what are we doing with every breath of our life man! Misery or making things happen?

Hosea Loves Gomer

“The Lord said to me, ‘Go show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they may turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes” Hosea 3:1

Last two days ago, in the wee hours of the morning, I came across of a very beautiful love story about Hosea and his adulteress wife, Gomer. I was really touched by this story.

Hosea is a man who loves the Lord very much and under God's command he married Gomer an adulteress wife. But why?

Then, Hosea bought Gomer (his wife) back from prostitution and slave as mistress to another man but with a condition that she must not be a prostitute or intimate with other men.

He loved her just as God loves the people. Gomer (Hosea’s wife) was no longer worth as much to anyone except to Hosea.

The moral of this real life story is no matter how low we sink, God is willing to buy us back – to redeem us – and lift us again. This is just as Hosea bought Gomer back from slavery and prostitution.

My Birthday Surprise!

It was just yesterday night, around 11pm I came home after my training at PB Mutual. I did not anticipate any celebration or surprises for my birthday as this is my busy week. My schedules are fully packed every night!

BUT, I was so surprise to come home with a surprise from dear Calvin. He hid in my room and presented all the gifts on my bed. No wonder my mom looks so fishy, because suddenly she said that she will cook my maggie mee for me, which she seldom will.

Life is good and God is good to me. I am so delighted and excited about life because of His great love for me. The kind of love that I can share with my loved ones as well. The kind of love that keeps my life going.

Reporting from Kampung Merjuk for the Orang Asli

It was just less than two weeks ago Abby Loh, invited me to join Brother Khew to Sungai Merjuk for one day Mission Trip. We were asked to prepare a simple Children Program and prepare some tit bits. It was just a few hours trip but indeed a fruitful one.

Our journey into Kampung Merjuk, it is deserted up on the hill.

There were 13 to 15 kids with us and a couple. There were also these couple whose names are En Harith* and Pn Rosiana*. They are Christians and they opened their house to fellowship.

Telling them the story of "The Parable of The Lost Sheep"

Most of them do not attend school because they do not have uniforms. The do not even know how to write their name. They don’t even have sufficient stationeries but just a box of random color pencils. They do not have clean clothes to wear too.

A good solid meal will be a blessing to them.

My final note to this matter, I found that most of these little ones do not attend schools and this matter has been going on in their generations. One of the reasons given was that they do not have school uniforms to go to school. My utmost thoughts were what happened to the budget that the Government should allocate for the Orang Asli in Malaysia??

Why are they the neglected ones? How can the generations of Orang Asli face breakthrough in future??

Climate Change

Last Thursday, our* dear new friend Mr Tang invited us to KLPac. It was really good, though I wanted to just go for shopping the whole day, but Calvin was excited to go for the Climate Change Documentary at KLPac. By the way, KLPac is Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre. It is located at Sentul West, a project by YTL.

The place has a lot of greens, big green fields with lots of trees. We drove along a long narrow road in between the greens. Then, there are some of the old buildings; the old structure of clay bricks with some white paints covered the outer building. Makes you feel very serene. You know what? It can good place to take wedding pictures.

After that we reached the KLPac. Very creatively renovated, it is a modern renovation done on the old colonial times structure. So, it is partially bricks with modernized architecture. Hmm…cool!

After I watched the Climate Change Documentary, my eyes were opened. Yes, very educational program. It is not a James Bond movie alrights, but it is a documentary about Global Warming.

A few prominent messages I got from the documentary,

· Climate change is a direct result from man’s abuse in environment

· It is evident in the increasing global warming, tsunami, floods, food and crops unable to produce, animal extinction, Katrina earthquake, etc

· Nature has been surviving and will survive; it is man that cannot survive in this nature. Looking back, many creations such as animals went to extinction. Man is just one of the creations.

· The documentary namely “The 11^th Hour” also presented some actions can be taken by individuals, organizations and governments.

Here are some suggested by Tan Sri Francis Yeoh in his speech,

• Hybrid cars, which are virtually market ready, would quadruple our fuel efficiency

• Solar technology will do wonders in sunny climates, such as Asia, Africa for example, and at a competitive cost with fossil fuels.

• And efficient land management strategies would end today’s tropical deforestation, which now contribute to about one-fifth of all global carbon emissions, as well as massive losses of biodiversity.

Be an Angel Campaign Telematch

It was 8am on Labour Day, I went with Calvin for a telematch organized by Beautiful Gate. Beautiful gate is a home for the people on wheels. The program started was from 8am till 11.30pm. We had fun with our new friends on wheels.


What do we call them? People with disabilities? they earn their living on their own by selling newspapers, keropok and crafts in SS2. They are not disable so I'll just call them my friends on wheels. They are equally special like us, they have feelings and they want to have fun like us. They are even more hardworking than us.


This telematch organized to draw in more people from the society to connect with our friends on wheels.

As you know, many of us are living in our own nutshell, not knowing that life can be more amazing and meaningful as we reach out the very end of the world. They are the people we often neglected, cast aside and forgotten. But God by His great love and grace, often lead us back to the very need of life – to remember the forgotten.

Although when I went for the telematch activity, it feels alien to me. I believe many of us do feel that way because our very own nature is far away from selfless. We often look at our circumstances but in fact life is bigger than just our own home, work and progression in the economy and politics. Connecting with the people who are different from us make us feels awkward, but heys, if you try it, your heart will leaps with joy!

My hope for the people is to constantly on the lookout to connect themselves with Nature. Man and Nature cannot be separated but Man and Materials can. All materials are temporary but only love never fails. True love never fails, love that is a blessing and not self seeking. Love, because love cast out fears.
This boy walks with a special support. He too needs more love and attention like us. I notice that many of them, their parents are living elsewhere but they are living in the disable home. But i asked one of them about how she feels living in the disable home, she told me, "I am happy."

Golden Girls

Last Sunday, after Church, me and Calvin went out with his aunt. His aunt ask for a favor to bring her out to see her best friend who just came down from Beijing. The aunt is in her 70s and her friend who is from Beijing is in her 80s.

We went to Sunway Pyramid together. They went for a drink at "Ta Ren Chan Ting" and both me and Calvin went for shopping. :)

They have been friends since High School. So adorable, still holding hands while shopping.

Both of them went to High School in Singapore. At that time, Singapore was still under Malaysia. Then, they went to Beijing to pursue their studies in University. At that time, there weren't any Universities in Malaysia. Can you imagine that?

Their ages maybe golden but they still look strong and healthy. More than that, we think they have very strong opinion. They are very picky on the place to go and food to eat.

At the end of the day, as I reflected back my experience with these two golden girls, I really find it amazing to hear a real life testimony about Malaysia. Although, they are not that young at age, but they are still very alert minded, shared with us how Malaysia was.

Well, paktor with your partner can be interesting other than going out on our own. Getting involve in people's life from all social life actually expands our mindset and views in life. Well, yes, after all we are living once with this given breath of life, why not use it to the fullest? Let's celebrate life always.

Humble beginnings...

Baking is Fun!

Last Friday after work, I was so tired but then I found some time myself to bake. At times I feel very tired especially after work, but I realized that I can be very energetic if I do not use up all my energy.

Well, our house was left all alone for me and my sister. Haha! Since we could do anything that night, we decided to bake. So we got ourselves ready and rushed down to the supermarket to get our ingredients, at that time it was almost 9pm. We got to get there before the shop closes.
















You can get your premix flour from the supermarket or there are two baking suppliers in Taman Megah, which is the same row as La Manila.







The part that helps us most is to use a stick to poke through the cake. This really helps us to check if the cake is throughly baked inside out. If it is wet, then you have to continue your baking. Over baking it will also cause your cake to be hard or dry.











Once your cake is ready, turn it around to get the smoother side of the cake. Then, decorate on it. :)
